Royal Pharmaceutical Society

 Independent society founded by Sir Henry Wellcome. Funds medical research and initiatives worldwide.

Academy of Medical Sciences (United Kingdom)

The UK Academy of Medical Sciences is the independent body in the UK representing the whole spectrum of medical science. Our mission is to ensure better healthcare through the rapid application of research to the practice of medicine.

 

International Anesthesia Research Society

The International Anesthesia Research Society is an international, professional medical society dedicated to improving clinical care, education and research in anesthesia, pain management, and perioperative medicine. It was founded in 1922 by Francis Hoeffer McMechan.

 

International College of Surgeons

The International College of Surgeons is a global organization dedicated to promoting excellence of surgeons and surgical specialists worldwide. It was founded in 1935 by Max Thorek and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.

 

International Committee of Military Medicine

The International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) is an international and intergovernmental organization consisting of more than one hundred states. The ICMM was established in 1921, in response to concerns over the lack of care provided during World War I. It was created to strengthen cooperation between the health services of the armed forces worldwide.

 

International Continence Society

The International Continence Society is a registered UK charity with a global health focus on the development in the field of incontinence.

 

International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics

The International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, usually just FIGO as the acronym of its French name Fédération Internationale de Gynécologie et d'Obstétrique, is a worldwide non-governmental organisation representing obstetricians and gynaecologists in over one hundred territories.

 

International Health Partnership

The International Health Partnership (IHP+) is a group of partners committed to improving the health of citizens in developing countries. International organizations, bilateral agencies and country governments all sign the IHP+ Global Compact.

 

International Pediatric Nephrology Association

The International Pediatric Nephrology Association is an association to promote the knowledge and communication among the pediatric nephrologists and improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of kidney disease at children around the world.

 

International Society for Heart Research

The Society began as an "International Study Group for Research in Cardiac Metabolism" in Dubrovnik in 1968; at the 1976 World Congress in Tokyo, it adopted the name "International Society for Heart Research". It currently has over 3,000 members and comprises 7 international Sections (Australasian, Chinese, European, Indian, Japanese, Latin American and North American). 

 

International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine

The International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine is a "multi-disciplinary nonprofit association that promotes innovation, development, and application of magnetic resonance techniques in medicine and biology throughout the world". 

 

International Society of Biometeorology

The International Society of Biometeorology (ISB) provides an international forum for the promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration between meteorologists, health professionals, biologists, climatologists, ecologists and other scientists.

 

International Society of Dermatopathology

The International Society of Dermatopathology is a non-profit, international society for the discipline of dermatopathology which was founded in 1979. It is based in Half Moon Bay, California, US. It publishes a peer-reviewed journal, The American Journal of Dermatopathology.

 

International Society of Nephrology

The International Society of Nephrology is a global professional association dedicated to advancing kidney health worldwide through education, grants, research, and advocacy. 

 

International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology

The International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology is a professional membership association and charity registered in England and Wales.

 

International Society on Oxygen Transport to Tissue

The International Society on Oxygen Transport to Tissue is an interdisciplinary society of approximately 300 members that represents essentially every major tissue oxygen research laboratory in the world.

 

Iodine Global Network

Established in 1986, the Iodine Global Network is a non-profit, non government organization for the sustainable elimination of iodine deficiency worldwide.

 

Medical Women's International Association

The Medical Women's International Association is a non-governmental organization founded in 1919 with the purpose of representing female physicians worldwide.

 

Neurocritical Care Society

The Neurocritical Care Society is an international, multidisciplinary medical society first established in 2002. The Society is dedicated to improving the care and outcomes of patients with life-threatening neurologic illnesses in the intensive care unit.

 

Society for Endocrinology

The Society for Endocrinology is an international membership organisation and registered charity representing scientists, clinicians and nurses who work with hormones. The Society was established in 1946, and currently has approximately 2,500 members.

Society for Pediatric Research

The Society for Pediatric Research is an international society of multidisciplinary pediatric researchers. The Society works with four independent regional societies: Eastern, Midwestern, Southern, and Western Societies for Pediatric Research.

Society of Family Planning

The Society of Family Planning is an international non-profit professional organization established in 2005 specializing in "abortion and contraception science" composed of physicians, nurses, sociologists, public health practitioners and trainees in these fields.

Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society

Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society is an international learned society dedicated to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

World Federation for Medical Education is a non-governmental organisation concerned with education and training of medical doctors worldwide. WFME’s main objective is to "enhance the quality of medical education worldwide, with promotion of the highest scientific and ethical standards in medical education".

The World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists is an international federation of independent national professional associations of anaesthesiologists. The WFSA’s Secretariat is based in London, UK.
