The Malaysian Bar is a creature of statute established under the Advocates and Solicitors' Ordinance 1947 which ordinance was subsequently repealed by the Legal Profession Act 1976. It is an independent Bar whose aim is to uphold the rule of law and the cause of justice and protect the interest of the legal profession as well as that of the public.
The legal profession in Malaysia is a fused one with a membership of approximately 16,000 members. Each advocate and solicitor is automatically a member of the Malaysian Bar so long as he/she holds a valid Practising Certificate.
Attorney General's Chambers Malaysia
The Attorney General of Malaysia is the principal legal adviser to the Government of Malaysia. The Attorney General is also the highest ranking public prosecutor in the country and is also known as the Public Prosecutor. The powers with regards to prosecution is contained in Article 145(3) of the Federal Constitution.
Federal Court of Malaysia
The Federal Court of Malaysia is the highest court and the final appellate court in Malaysia. It is housed in the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya. The court was established during Malaya's independence in 1957 and received its current name in 1994.

Institut Latihan Kehakiman dan Perundangan (ILKAP)
Merancang dan mengendalikan program latihan, kolokium, seminar dan bengkel dalam bidang kehakiman dan perundangan, menjalankan kajian yang berkaitan dengan keperluan latihan dan analisa impak kepada organisasi dan pegawai perkhidmatan awam, badan berkanun dan pihak berkuasa tempatan yang terlibat di dalam bidang kehakiman, perundangan dan penguatkuasaan undang-undang; dan menjalankan kajian dan penerbitan berkaitan dengan perkembangan bidang kehakiman dan perundangan semasa.
Parliament of Malaysia
Parliament is the legislative authority for the Federation and it enacts laws to be enforced nationwide.
Parliament passes Federal laws, makes amendments to existing Federal laws, examines the government’s policies, approves the government’s expenditures and approves new taxes.
Parliament also serves as the forum to discuss matters of public interest. To enable Parliament to undertake its responsibilities fully and effectively, the Constitution confers certain rights and legal immunities under “Parliamentary Privileges” to Members of Parliament.
